FCRA Registration & Renewals
The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) aims to regulate acceptance and utilization of foreign contributions and prohibits use of any foreign contribution for any activities that may be detrimental India’s security, political process, and other national interests. The FCRA was first enacted in 1976 and was substantially amended in 2010. The FCRA is applicable to all associations, groups and NGOs which intend to receive foreign donations. It is mandatory for all such NGOs to register themselves under the FCRA. Organisations registered by the Government of India Ministry of Home Affairs – FCRA Division can receive foreign contribution for social, educational, religious, economic and cultural purposes. The Institute of Health Systems has been registered under the FCRA since 1994.
